Our Footing in the Community
We think of our Members/Consumers as family and they consider us family.
We think of our Members/Consumers as family and they consider us family. We bring the wider community of supports into their lives through our collaboration with local heath care partners and agencies that provide specialized services.
Our voice at the table with other Independent Living Resource Centres, 211 Community Connection Alliance and a variety of health care organizations and professionals help us ensure our Members/Consumer’s needs are met and necessary resources are available to them.
The personalized access fostered through these collaborations is reflected in the responsiveness of our team approach, programs and services. Among many other community partnerships, BDB is also an anchor partner of the newly accredited South Georgian Bay Ontario Health Team, one of only 42 Provincial Health Teams in the province.
Our footing in the community amplifies the voice of the disabled, ensures inclusivity considerations and helps build stronger communities.
